Spacious detached authentic French cottage at a sunny location built against a rock with a view of the green valley of La Faye. The house is located at a couple of minutes drive from the astonishing nature of Gorges de Chouvigny where the river Sioule is a perfect place for canoeing.

The cottage is suitable for families of up to 6 adults and 1 child, small pets are allowed. The property has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with dinner table and cosy living room with a woodstove. A colour TV with satellite connection, video, DVD and audio equipment with CD-player are included. The kitchen contains all modern equipment such as a microwave, freezer and gas-cooker and a dining table for 6 persons. The bathroom has a shower and separate washbasin as well as a washing-machine.

The so-called 'Roses chamber', 'Farmers-chamber' and 'Blue Chamber' are spacious (16m²) and each contain good quality mattresses, pillows and eiderdowns. In each of the rooms there is enough space to place extra beds for children.

The cottage has an oil-fired central heating (located in the cellar) which makes it suitable for all seasons. The costs charged for heating are based on use. In spite of all modern provisions the cottage has kept its original character. In the intimate garden there is a garden-set, umbrella and a barbecue. In the shed you'll find 2 bicycles, that are free for use. The house has no fixed telephone but is within reach of a mobile phone-network.

Location: The house is located on a local road with very little traffic, and lies nearly 3 minutes drive from the village of Menat. This village has about 660 inhabitants but there are a baker, butcher, doctor, pharmacy and small supermarket. The 12th century church and 5th century monastery are worth a visit. And of course you should have dinner at one of the several good restaurants, where you can enjoy the real Auvergne cuisine at very reasonable prices.

In the near surroundings you can hike and bike. In the village of Servant, about 2,5 miles from the cottage, you'll find a recreation lake where you can sun, swim and fish. The nearest larger cities (about 20 miles drive) are Riom and Clermont-Ferrand, close by the Puy de Dome.

Getting there Menat is 3½ hours drive from Paris, 6½ hours from Le Havre or Caen and about 7½ hours from Calais.

The 8 kwh of electricity per day including hire. Consumption for heating in addition you will be billed at the rate EDF.

The obligatory costs for cleaning are 40.- €.
